Benjamin Kegan is a New York-based filmmaker. His films explore the cultural intersections of masculinity and the body. He received his MFA at Columbia University, where his thesis film, THE FIRST MEN, premiered at SXSW and was selected as a Vimeo staft pick premiere. His documentary short, TEAM TALIBAN, was named a Top 5 Short Film at the Tribeca Film Festival by New York Magazine and was awarded Best Documentary Short at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. He received a Davey Foundation Grant for Emerging Artists and a James Bridges development grant for directing actors. His first non-fiction feature, Expiration Term of Service, follows a career counselor in the Wisconsin National Guard and won Best Documentary at the Reel Heart Film Festival and was selected to participate in the Society of Visual Anthropology Media and Film Festival and Ethnografilm Paris.
